We left home mid- afternoon Thursday, March 20. Spent the night at an rv park in Fayetteville, NC, close to the airport. It was pretty full of long termers. It was very quite. A great overnight place, on sandy dirt streets at the end of a sandy lane.
Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22, we stayed just southwest of Charleston in a Charleston county Park: James Island. It had the best Dog Park I can imagine. At least 4 acreswith ( probably more) with a dedicated pond area, a dog wash and water station( but no other water stations, probably by design), picnic tables and benches. While we were there on a Friday evening, dog's had fun and there was plenty of room. It had a separate small dog area, but some small dogs came in wiIh the big dogs. I picked up a lot of poop and didn't see any designated volunteers or staff, but we loved the park. Paved trails were great. Not well-marked from the trailside, however. Campground was pretty good. Our site backed up to a pond. but we were beside s local scout group or something and the kids were loud and they showed a ovie with a screen on the open door of their van and we seemed to be in a direct line for their sound, although we were behind their van through a bit of woods.
